Once again the news has informed us that Australian based companies have been affected by Ransomware attacks.

In 2017 the Australian Government passed an amendment (Privacy Amendment (Notifiable Data Breaches) Act 2017) to the Australian Privacy Act 1988 ensuring that affected individuals are notified by companies about data security breaches where personal information has been compromised.

In this day and age, with technology development making leaps and bounds, I am surprised at how many business leaders are uninformed about “The Cloud” – what it is, what it means for business, and how common myths about The Cloud are just that – myths.
